West Beach

A flat loop that skirts the edge of Littlehampton Golf Course on a winding, tree-lined footpath, before joining the shingle of beautiful West Beach. The route then runs along the beach to the mouth of the Arun via a boardwalk with great views.

Written Directions

Park for free at the end of Ferry Road (by the red footbridge) . Walk along the pavement up Rope Walk and look out for a footpath going off to the right by the bins (1).

Follow this path all the way to the beach, keeping the golf course on your left (2, 2a).

Once you reach the beach, turn left (3) and walk back towards the mouth of the Arun. Look out for the boardwalk near the start of the beach - turn left onto it (4), going between the sand dunes, and arriving in a paid parking area (4a).

​

From here walk back along Rope Walk, keeping the river on your right, until you get to where you started.
